Controls
The 700s do not feature physical controls on the earcups unlike most of Bose's headphones. Instead you'll find a touch panel in the front of the right earcup that can register swipes and finger taps. Tap twice to play/pause, swipe up or down to change the volume, and swipe forward to skip tracks. One tap answers calls and the double tap will reject any call that comes in.
The headset lets you toggle the "aware" mode which allows for some permeability of your surroundings. This feature is helpful for those who have to be aware of the environment when listening to music or making calls.
A motion detector turns off your headphones when you are not using them. It's a welcome addition for those who forget to switch off their headphones or get distracted while using headphones. You can alter the Auto-Off timer setting on your Bose 700 headphones in the Bose Connect app.
The app lets you alter the features of the headphones including audio settings, noise cancelling levels, and the languages used for voice prompts. You can also download updates for your Bose headsets.
